What You Need To Do Now
Lots of people do not really understand how these massive financial problems of today are going to impact them. We think that government will take care of the problem and life will go on as usual. Pray and pray very hard that the bail out will work or you and your children could end up dying of starvation in America, land of plenty. This is no exaggeration, and I will explain why in detail.
If you are one of the people against the bailout, then you simply do not understand the whole problem. (Of course the pork in the bailout is just ridiculous, and I do not understand at all how something like this gets in a bill.) However, without this bailout, many companies would simply go out of business. They might anyhow. So how will this affect you?
If you are one of the people who work for that business, which does not have a credit line to pay it's employees, then you will lose your job, unless you don't care if you get paid every week. Multiply that millions of times over and you will start to see the big picture.
Even if you are lucky enough to keep your job what are you going to do when you can't buy gas or groceries because there simply are no stores or gas stations that are able to stay open? What are you going to do when you can't get fuel to heat your home, because those companies are now also out of business? Can you see how the house of cards is going to collapse?
The worldwide financial collapse of 2008 will probably be the biggest event in human history! None of us are safe, even if you have money, that money may just turn into plain old paper. You will be better off if you have real goods to barter with. Barter will probably be the only way you will get what you need to stay alive.
There may be marshal law because people will run wild in the streets, looting and killing for food. Of course, we will be lucky if there are any laws at all. It may well be every man for himself. It will be a nightmare that few of us will understand.
You need to think about what you can do to keep your family alive. The first thing you need to do is protect yourself and your family. If you don't have a gun, I would suggest that you get several and plenty of ammo. The next thing I would get are electric space heaters. I think the government will be able to keep the electric companies going and all of America will have electric in their homes, even if they cannot pay for it. I would certainly not rely on your LP or natural gas provider unless it is government owned.
Next I would go to the grocery store and stock up on as many canned goods as possible. I would not waste money on these survival foods that people are trying to sell over the internet. That kind of food is very expensive, and it tastes terrible. Canned food is still your best bet and it will last for many years.
Although many places will go out of business, I think Wal Mart will still be open, however you will need transportation to get there. You might want to buy a bike so that you do not have to worry about gas supplies.
How long will all of this last? I don't know, but the government should be trying to get things back to normal again. After all, this is AMERICA! My goodness, the world has never seen a country like this before. We simply cannot fade away into oblivion. I believe in America and the American people. There is untold wealth in this country and the rich will have to help the poor to get back on their feet again. Working together, we should be able to overcome anything. We need to stay positive, and we need to pray the bailout works.

I agree with some of what you say. However, I do not believe that the electricity will be there. There are already foreign troops deployed on US soil ready to masacre the people.
They will have no gumption to do us in , just as our troops kill in foreign countries without any problems. We are NOT their people, so they will not care.
FEMA already has working concentration camps ready for us to be rounded up after the next staged horific event........ Probably some type of biological warfare to effect the transfer of masses ( millions of us) to the camps.

I have to agree with you who say the bailout did not work. When I first wrote this hub back in 2008 the first bailout was just starting to be doled out. Now in 2/09 we can look back and say that first bailout did not work. Big businesses everywhere are going out of business with no end in sight.
Since bailouts do not work, they should try the no taxes for a year plan. I think it is worth a shot. We have to do something to get this economy back on track again, and I think the no taxes plan would be a lot easier and less expensive to carry out than the bailouts.
The bailouts will be a sticky mess for years to come and they are not talking about all the money that will be needed to monitor how that money is going to be spent in the best interest of the American people. There is a lot of room for fraud here.

What good would it do to round everyone up and put them in a concentration camp? That simply does not make any sense at all. Instead of getting taxes from these people, they would have to feed and shelter these people.

Well it's 2009 and still no collapse, I agree things are not very good for our economy atm, but they could certainly be a lot worse.

It may not be a financial collapse for some of us, but for those without a job, the financial situation is dire indeed.
The bailouts did not work, and we hear more about bailout misuse everyday. The gov would have been better off sending us each a huge check with the condition we spend it in a "green" way. That would have been killing two birds with one stone, more clean energy etc, and creating new jobs. Of course to get that kind of plan in place and moving might be costly too....
I am always impressed with the intelligence of the people who post here, surely the people in Washington have to have at least some intelligence too? Let's hope they can get it right and get us out of this mess. And bring those to justice who got us into it!

I agree with Dave, take things into your own hands and get things moving, we don't have to wait for government to help us out. If you see a young family in need, help them out. If you can hire someone who needs a job, then do it! Getting older and tired of cleaning your own house, hire someone to do it. Tired of doing your own lawnwork...hire someone and give them a job. Tired of shopping for your own groceries...get someone without a job to do it. Pretty soon there will be millions of people out there without unemployment benefits, we all have to do our part to help these people.That's how our grandparents and great grandparents did things. Americans are the most generous people in the world, we need to apply that now to the unemployed in this country.

Actually, I live close to the Canadian border. Ten years ago, I saw something BIG coming our way. When it started coming down, I wanted to be ready, and now I am. Instead of spending money, we saved until we had enough for a farm...all paid for now. I plan on helping as many people as I can get through this.
We are a rich country. Many of us can afford to help our less fortunate neighbors and we should.
It is now 11/2009 and we are all still here, alive and well, we are getting through the storm. American is humming along, there are many problems, but I believe America can overcome those problems and come back stronger than before.
I keep waiting for the "other shoe" to drop, but it never does. I know there are millions of people out of work and suffering, but they are being cared for. Americans all across the country have stepped up to the plate and shared with the homeless and those who are out of work.
My only concern is that our manufacturing base is now gone, all shipped overseas to China and Mexico. We need to get those jobs back, we need to make the USA the number 1 manufacturer in the world once again if we expect to employ the millions without a job. We need to get serious about getting those factories back and up and running. That's where we should be putting the bail out money. I am sick of bailing out those greedy banks! We need to bailout the unemployed of America.
We can not hope to compete with China. No one here wants to work for under a dollar an hour. If I worked for a dollar an hour for 40 hours a week I MIGHT be able to feed myself if I only ate beans. It sure wouldn't pay the rent. The hard times haven't even gotten here yet.

Another thing we take for granted here is that there is no class structure, everyone is considered pretty much equal, and if they forget that, their fellow Americans bring them back to reality. That is huge and we take that for granted, however life would be a lot different for the average American if there was a class structure in place.
The Roman Empire lasted a thousand years, and in the end, lack of disciplin and the barbarians brought them down. However, in America, it is the new wave of immigrants that make us stronger. One day, I bet Canada, USA and Mexico will be one big, very rich, very powerful country. Some people think thats bad, but really, it would make us that much stronger, we just should not bite off more than we can chew.
Also, don't buy stuff from China, BUY AMERICAN whenever possible, this should be a no brainer! And pray for our country!
We are doomed. I run a business and my current drive and passion is going down the toilet bowl. New potential health taxes, the recent unemployeement increase, personal tax incresae, property tax increase is overwhelming.....now the dollar is tanking....it's not worth it. I have this desire to close shop....layoff my 110 employees and leave for New Zealand.
People don't want to work for a dollar an hour. They don't want tax increases, etc.
I think a major factor is we are fighting laziness, corporate greed and years of economic abuse.
A lot of people blaming the government for the housing crisis weren't complaining when they were pulling out equity to buy jet skis and cars they couldn't afford and adding swimming pools.
Having been to many Eastern countries where people work twice as hard for only 5 percent of the wages, it's time for people to buckle up, work hard, be smart with their money, put an end to some of the corporate greed and over time, this country will climb back up.
Hi Festersporling1~~ Yes, you certainly have a point. Americans are known the world over for being fat and lazy, and some are. But there are many, many very hard working Americans out there who are holding down 3 jobs to make ends meet.
You are also right about people pulling money out of their homes to put in pools, buy boats, or to continue their credit card habit. Then, the rest of us wondered how they could afford all this stuff, and there were lots of days when I wondered why I could'nt buy stuff like that too. Of course at the time, I had no idea that it was all bought on credit and that these people really could not afford all these "toys" and now they lost their homes because of just being stupid.
The party is OVER and I hope we have all learned some lessons from it.

The USA is the SaudiArabia of coal. We have billions of tons of coal. What do we use coal for? Not coal furnaces I can tell you that much! Coal produces electricity.
If worse came to worse, the government would use that coal to keep the lights and heat on.
The government already helps millions of people every year with electric and heating bills. Even if the government goes bankrupt, the lights and heat would still be on, thanks to all that coal.
It is not a big jump of the imagination to consider getting an electric space heater. Especially if the oil prices jump and other home heating resources are low.

The most important thing to work on is Food and Water. You can't eat Gold or Silver, but someone hungry will definitely trade for food.
Start storing dehydrated food, dried Brown Rice and beans. No white rice or white flour etc. Store water, buy a large gas can from Walmart and use it just for water storage.
If you live in an urban area, you will probably be close to a river or lake. Buy fishing gear and go fishing this weekend to learn how to use it. If you are in the inner city, you might want to plan to vacate to relatives outside. If you are in an apartment, you can buy items to barter. Wine is a great thing to store to barter with. Use your imagination...
You might want to form a small group and discuss survival skills and plans for the comming collapse. I say small group because you might need to be mobile and a smaller group will do better than a large throng.
Food and water is the most important thing. You can plant blueberry bushes, Blackberry and Raspberry's in your yard. They need little maintenance and can provide you with free food in the future. Home Depot and Lowe's sells fruit and nut trees, plant these all over the yard. Cherries are a good fruit tree.
It things get really desperate, you can eat wild plants to survive.
Many wild weeds and plants in the neighborhood are edible. Dandelions, Chickory and others. Even acorns are edible. They need to be soaked to get the tanic acid out of them. Wild Onions and grass can be eaten. Pine needles. Do some research and maybe get a book on edible wild plants. Be careful if you go this route, many plants looks similar to others that are toxic. Get a book with photographs. I would recommend that you be careful to try just a tiny amount and wait a few hours to see what reaction you have.
If the power gets cut off due to some SHTF scenario, youre pretty much gonna be on your own...... the cavalry aint a comin!! The whole idea that the police, national guard etc will be on patrol is a ridiculous idea. They will be with their families just like everyone else. Might as well forget about the govt providing "free" electricity too. First off, to get the whole grid rigged up for running by way of burning coal for power would mean that the whole system would have to be retro-fitted for such a massive task thats not likely to happen in the midst of a real time collapse.
Best thing you can do is stock up on things peole are gonna want. If you have cigarettes, whiskey, ammo, food, spices, batteries and things like that, you are gonna be much better off than someone with a safe full of gold. Right now gold is a good investment because it might help you to protect the value of the US dollars you currently hold, but it wont do much at all in the midst of a SHTF meltdown. After the smoke clears, the gold will be good to have because you will be able to trade it for the "new" dollar that replaces the collapsed currency we have now............... much better than US dollars that are at zimbabwe values.

My dearest, Magnoliazz. You sure seem to place a great deal of trust in the government (women often do). That is why divorce laws favor women and why this country is becoming a matriarchy...the powers that be know that women are easy prey and thus easy to control. Now, all the government needs to do is get rid of the roosters and the hen house, the hens, and the chicks are theirs for the taking. Seems their plan is coming along very well.

Now the words "In God we trust", does not mean they trust in your Savior and mine (Christ Yeshua/Jesus), but they know you will interpret it that way. If so, why didn't they say, "in Christ we Trust"? At the end of the day the motto just means that the powers that be, trust in the God of Mammon-Ra - the Egyptian God of wealth and prosperity, i.e., the almighty dollar.

According to Albert Pike, 33 degree Freemason and Grand Inspector General, and Brigadier General of the Confederate Army during the Civil War, wrote a book (Freemason bible)called Morals and Dogma. In it he flat out said that the illuminating light behind Freemasonry is Luciferian.
There may be many well meaning men in Freemasonry who think they are into something benevolent, but all they really are are front men, being used like pawns. Pike said they are lied to, want to be lied to, and deserve to be lied to. Only the 30-33 degrees are really "in the know".
It has also been noted that even US presidents cow-tow to their superior Freemason brothers. Scary group of guys. Perhaps they are not billed as a "secret society" anymore, because they get alot of good press these days, but they are indeed a society with many secrets (and none of them are any good).
One of their mottos is "Out of chaos comes order". Whose order? Their order! What chaos? Just look around: financial collapse, social strife and ethnic clashes. So, if a semi-secret organization wants to impose itself upon the masses, wouldn't it be wise to create trouble then offer the solution? Reminds me of Nero. He literally set people's homes on fire, then offered the victims help through his fire brigade who were already standing by. Of course these people may have to agree to give Nero their homes if he were to help put out the fire and give him something else he wanted, and if they didn't, well, their homes burned to the ground.
Freemasons operate in the same manner. They will cause the trouble by stirring up the hornets nest and then charge in as the friendly Orken man with a ready solution...all you have to do is sign on the dotted line and give them what they want.
The concentration camps that are going up on military bases across the country are for those people, unlike yourself, who do not place their dreams, hopes and wishes on the government. This is a prison for enlightened souls, who probably will give the government some trouble. These enlightened souls are not the sheep the government wants to have around. Let us just say that these imprisoned sheep don't blindly follow a leader. This was why 9/11 was so important. It gave "Dubya" the ability to turn his super-sluething agencies upon the American people to find out who will go along with the new agenda and who will not.
The Mexican horde that has invaded our borders have proven themselves to be friendly to dictators and hostile to caucasians and black folks alike. And, did I already mention they work for cheap wages and allow the government to do whatever it wants, just like in old Mexico? This is one way the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. 93% of all "new jobs" go to illegal immigrants.
I firmly believe that The Almighty is in the midst of judging America. Just look at our thriving porn industry. Now take into consideration all the divorces and that most women have forsaken their post as wives and mothers by subsequently leaving their homes, hearth, husbands, and halflings for the job market - leaving husbands without wives and children without mothers, all-the-while competing against their husbands, brothers, fathers, and sons for the title of "bread winner".
Now, let us contemplate abortions. 4,000 all-american sweethearts dismember and murder their babies each and every day of the year. Since 1973 (Roe v. Wade), american women have murdered almost 50 million human beings, more than all casualties of war combined the past 200 years (worldwide). Funny how 4,000 Mexicans cross our borders each and every day illegally, while american women are murdering 4,000 of their babies at the very same time. Hmmm. Seems like The Almighty is handing us over for judgement and may be giving our inheritance away to a foreign people!
For every American baby murdered - a foreigner will take his place. Soon, there will be more of them than us. And even though you extoll the virtues of immigration and diversity, according to social scientists, our country is becoming fragmented across ethnic lines. What that means is these foreigners, immigrants, or what ever you may want to call them, are not assimilating into "Americans". Just look at the Balkans and any other country or region who tried to mesh people of different races and religions together...it's called "balkanization", and it always leads to social unrest and civil war.
Perhaps we should state that America leads the industrialized world in sexually transmitted diseases (by a long shot). Perhaps we should mention that America is the murder capital of the world. Perhaps we might make mention about America's addiction to domestic violence, drugs, gambling, prostitution, adultery and gangs.
Did you know that the US Congress released a statement a few years back that confessed that the CIA was guilty of 100,000 major human rights violations each and every year...and that was a MINIMUM! Now let's talk for a moment about America's G.I. Joes and Judys, who love to blast their ACDC "Highway to Hell" music down the streets of those poor nations that they intend to torture, kill and conquer...and for what?! A bunch
I refuse to take the we are doomed approach, we simply will need to get back to basics. We have been living beyond out means and it's time for us to go on a diet and buy what we can afford. Our homes are no longer a piggy bank to buy toys, nor should they have ever been. Now that the housing market went bust people are borrowing against their 401K accounts, some with no intention of every paying it back. Who is going to have to pay for that when they reach retirement age? People, we are responsible for our actions.
I really dont know if this will ever get read by anyone, but here goes. It all goes back to the beginning of time as we know it. But before that God created the heavens and all that was in it. but when God created man and woman, Satan saw a chance to turn man against God's will for man, or should I say Turn man against God's will, Satan IS still today doing just that through greed selfishness lust envy etc. After Satan did this he went back to the allmighty and challenged him with what he has done. God could have destored him, ( him created him did he not ). So with that in mind let's look at the two out comes. 1. He destories Satan another angel looks at what took place and get's to thinking the way Satan did and goes on turning man against God's will after all if Satan Was'nt right them Why then Did God destory him, then he challneges God and God destories him before long there would not be any angles in heaven.So in order to nip it in the bud (so to speak) God Grants Satan a certian amount of time to prove God wrong in the fact that man can not servive without God and that man will serve Satan over God. (read your bible) I'll give you the same words that Christ told the people ( for it is written)seek and you will find. If you will remember the book of job, where God granted Satan deminion over Job's life and in the end he did not turn from the will of God. Satan has deminion over us for now, ( you can see it in their hearts)unless you just dont want to see it. If you look at Revalation chapter 12 you will find where Satan and one thrid of the heavenly relm that sided with Satan is at this point in our lives, most will tell you that that has'nt happen yet, but you tell me what you think after you read it and look at the hearts of men.I the chapter you will find that it say's Wo(means watch out)to the inhabitants of the earth ( thats us folks)for the evil one has been casted down among you (Where is he )he comes with great fury and vengence because he know's his time is short ( two thing 1. he is here. 2he has time. Now think about this, where did Satan get Time from? It was granted to him by God (after all he is the father of time and it is his to grant)Let's take a look at time for a minute on a scale of eturninity. (_____> pretty long time would you say ) The average life span of a man now is about seventy years, on that scale you could even see a mark on it. Scripture tell's us life is but a vapor (now you can see why). Now let's say that Satan Was granted (let's just say 5000 years deminion over man ) on that same scale you could'nt even see five thousand years.(now you know why it say's: because he (Satan) now's that his time is short. Think just for one minute What do you think Satan and 1/3 rd of the heavenly relm is doing on earth right now ( they are trying to turn man kind against Gods will) with great success I might add! what do you think ? HE is not tyring to corrupt you but all of us even those with power in the world,he was in the hearts of the men that cruifide Jeuse (ever seen the passion of Christ or Jesus of nazeraith. They spit on him curst and mocked him, how was in their hearts to cause them to do such a thing to THE SON OF GOD ? (SATAN)that's who! Let take a look at what satan offered christ in his last temptation (the kingdoms of the world)it's in Mattew's you'll find it. Ok break that down we live on earth, who lives on earth ( the world does ) so we are the world just like Micheal Jackson said, now our kingdoms take for insentence here in the usa is none other than our goverment just like the reat of the people on earth there goverments are there kingdoms and who offered them to Jesus Christ for a mere act of worship. (Satan did )Tell me How could Satan offer that to Christ if it did'nt belong to him? (kingdom's of the world) being plural. How might you ask do they belong to him ( can you not see the enfluence he has in the hearts of those in charge of them) this is why God plainly tell us to not get mixed up in the things of the world. If you of the world your not of God! dont get mixed up in the traditions of the world.Bacause for right now ( THEY BELONG TO SATAN )!!!!FEAR NOT FOR ALL THESE THINGS MUST COME TO PASS BUT THEN END IS NOT YET! I just heard that idiot Ron Paul speak. He is all for dumping Social Security and Health Care for the old. He said it is either that or stop making wars. Well, that will not happen. This is just another "bail out" like we did for the bankers. The problem will not go away as long as we continue deficit financing with the Federal Reserve Bank. That is the real problem.

The people need to take the government back and stop giving our lives and money away to a bunch of lying politicians who only care about their own ambitions, image and greed. Its a joke and the joke is on the American people. Sometimes I wonder if when we go and vote that those votes are even counted. With the way things are set up, they could put anyone in the White House and how would we even know the difference? We believe whatever we see on TV.

The only change Obama brought was bringing black skin into a White House. I also believe the powers that be that groomed and appointed him to the presidency did so because he looks like a black man even though he is a Halfrican American.
This is significant because no one in this country has suffered more these past few years than "Black America" and they are the group that is most likely to rebel, but not if they have "one of their own" in the White House. Obama is there to keep Black people at bay by selling them false hope.
And how are Americans going to take back America from these rich families who appoint our president, congressmen, senators and governors? They will order our military to come against us and they will. It is the government that gives them their medals, money and sense of importance, so whose side do you think they will take? This is exactly why the Colonials did not want to have a standing army...because the military always protects the tyrants in power and impedes the people's ability to clean house.

I was told that the President is a figurehead, that he can't really make decisions. There is another faction truly running things. And they are not elected.
Personally, I was glad to have a black man elected President. It expanded our perceptions and sense of responsibility. I just hope, hope, hope they don't put some dumb woman in office, like Palin or Bachmann. There are so many intelligent and competent women in the business of politics who would be better role models. That is what this is about... role models... not sound bites and image, right? Ugh.

Funny how many libertarians there are int he world when the government faces collapse and lets be clear it is the federal government and its fiat money that faces collapse not we as the citizens of America. You argue that those who are against the bailout should reconsider - looking back now over the last few months the bailout of the banks has had no effect at all, the coming depression continues its march to collapse unrestrained. The more money thrown at the problem the bigger the problem becomes.
